Lenovo X1 Carbon Display Port

Hi, I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon running Windows 10. I would like to connect an external monitor and my only option seems to be using the HDMI port and using a HDMI to VGA cable. Tl Wn822n V2 Windows 10 Driver here. I plug this into a Philips 24' ext monitor and nothing I try can get me to duplicate or extend my display. I just get a message on the ext monitor of 'Check Cable Connection'. New cable, and new laptop. How can I even check, if the HDMI port is enabled or is there some other hidden switch / setting / feature I need to turn on first.

I have tried the display settings and 'Detect' but nothing. Any thoughts please. Kind Regards, David. Hi David, From my experience, some features, applications and devices may not work well as expected if there is no compatible drivers. Please check device Lenovo has released the Windows 10 compatible driver for your machine model, and verify if these devices are shown well in Device Manager. Also, For some machine models, HDMI port could be also controlled in BIOS settings, please contact Lenovo support to verify it, they are more familiar with their own product.
